Question:
Is it permissible to touch the Holy Qur’an and recite from it with Tayammum?
Answer:
الجواب باسم ملهم الصواب
If a person has a valid justification for performing Tayammum, such as severe illness which prevents him from using water, then Tayammum is the substitute for Wudhu (ablution) and Ghusl (bath).
This means that, everything a person is permissible to do with Wudhu, he will be permissible to do with Tayammum too.
Therefore, touching and reciting the Holy Qur’an with Tayammum is valid so long as the person has performed Tayammum because of a valid reason.
Only Allah knows best.
