Question:
Is it mandatory to give Fidyah for Sawm (fasting) only to the poor who are fasting?
Answer:
الجواب باسم ملهم الصواب
- It is not a mandatory requirement.
- Therefore, Fidyah can be given to the poor who are not able to fast for some valid reasons, such as illness, travelling etc – that are regarded valid excuses for not fasting in Ramadham.
