Question:
What is the ruling regarding reading the words of Azaan quite fast? Should such Azaan be repeated in a slow manner?
Answer:
الجواب باسم ملهم الصواب
The Sunnah method of calling out Azaan is to say the words of Azaan in a composed and serene manner. One should not haste with the words of Azaan.
The period of silence between the words of Azaan is measured by the time a person is able to reply to those words by repeating them – as it is Sunnah to reply to Azaan.
Whereas, the words of Iqaamah are called out swiftly and briskly.
If a Muazzin calls out the words of Azaan quite fast, it is preferable to call out Azaan again in a composed and serene manner.
Only Allah knows best.
