What is the ruling regarding calling Adhan and Iqamah when praying at home in Jama’ah (congregation)? Is it compulsory, or can a person just pray without calling either of them?
Answer:
الجواب باسم ملهم الصواب
It is not compulsory to call Adhan and Iqamah when praying salah at home, even if in congregation, as the Adhan and Iqamah of the local masjid are sufficient. However, it is Mustahabb (preferable) to call both Adhan and Iqamah when praying at home in congregation.

وقال في رد المحتار: (قوله: إذ أذان الحي يكفيه) لأن أذان المحلة وإقامتها كأذانه وإقامته؛ لأن المؤذن نائب أهل المصر كلهم كما يشير إليه ابن مسعود حين صلى بعلقمة والأسود بغير أذان ولا إقامة حيث قال: «أذان الحي يكفينا». (راجع: رد المحتار: ج 2، ص 613، دار الثقافة والتراث، دمشق)
