Question:
Is it mandatory for a person to have performed a Fardh (obligatory) Hajj in the past before being able to perform Hajj on behalf of another person?
Answer:
- It is not a mandatory requirement for a Hajj on behalf another.
- Rather, a person who has never performed Hajj may perform a Hajj Badl, i.e. Hajj on behalf of another person.
- However, it is preferable to choose somebody for Hajj Badl who has already performed his obligatory Hajj in the past.
Only Allah knows best.
