Question:
My wife and I were living separately for about nine months after a dispute between us. Now we have reconciled with each other. Is it permissible for us to start cohabiting again, or we are required to do something else?
Answer:
الجواب باسم ملهم الصواب
- As long as a person does not divorce his wife, she is his wife – according to Islamic teachings, even if they live separately in two different houses.
- Therefore, in your case, there is no need to do anything else. You are simply permitted to cohabit.
Only Allah knows best.
