Once Juha collected a big pile of woods. He wanted to sell them and earn a big amount of money. However, as the pile was quite big, he struggled to carry the load.
Whilst he was trying his best to carry them, two people were passing by. He called them and asked them to help him. However, they replied: “This is very heavy, Juha. We cannot help you. May Allah Almighty help you!”
After a bit of thinking and hard work, Juha was eventually able to get the woods on his back. Then, he began to walk towards the marketplace.
On the way, due to heavy weight, Juha tipped over and all the woods from his back fell on the ground, scattered. He became very worried and could not figure out what to do. He began to look around, hoping for somebody to arrive and help him.
Suddenly, he a saw a very big, strong man walking past him. He began to call him: “Hello! Hello!”.
The person came to Juha.
Juha said to the man: “Will you please help me in putting theses woods together and carrying them on my back?” The man replied: “What will you give me in return?” Juha replied: “NOTHING.” The big man smiled and said: “Very well.”
Then he began to help Juha carry the load on his back.
Having helped Juha, the man asked him: “Where’s my reward?” Juha replied: “Reward? What reward?” The man said: “Didn’t you promise that you’re gonna give me NOTHING in return?”
They both began to argue and raise their voice.
Finally, they agreed to go to the Qadhi (judge) to sort out their matter.
After listening to the statements from both parties, the Qadhi gave an order to Juha: “You must give him, immediately, what you had promised!”
Following the Qadhi’s order, Juha handed a pouch to the big man and said: “Take what is inside this pouch.”
Very excited, the man grabbed the pouch and began to search the inside of the pouch thoroughly. Then he handed it back to Juha saying: “There’s NOTHING inside the pouch.”
Juha replied:
“You have just admitted that there’s NOTHING inside the pouch. We had agreed that your reward is NOTHING. Then what is the reason for your objection?”
The big man had nothing to say.
